Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX Snowboard 2011 |
|
|
Back in 2006 the release of the Lib Tech skate Banana forever changed the world of snowboard design. This is the board that started the rocker profile craze and we should all be thankful. By using rocker in the center of the board while keeping the profile flat under-foot you are able to maintain pop while having a playful catch free board. The Skate Banana also features Lib Techs innovative Magne-Traction giving you tons of edge hold making the Skate Banana really feel like a skateboard. Internal power transfer sidewalls keep the board poppy ensuring you get those consistent ollies all day long in the park. To get you flying down the mountain at mach speeds the swirl sintered UHMW base is slippery like a banana. (Comes in assorted colors). The Lib Technolgies Skate Banana BTX Snowboard has a Banana Technology Rocker.

Comments about Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX Snowboard 2011:
The Skate Banana is a highly hyped board. So I hopped on the chance to demo one. Took it on several runs and walked away unimpressed. I mean, this isn't a bad board by any means. It's sort of like a movie that is hyped up only to leave you walking away wishing for more. The BTX is nice though. Great edge hold and the banana rocker was awesome in the pow. However, this board lacked pop which made it boring off of kickers. It was also on the heavier side which is not what I expect from a board in this price range. Carving was decent and the flex made presses enjoyable. Lacked power out of turns though. Stability wasn't too great on steep and fast runs, but this is a freestyle board so I don't expect any different.
Overall, a decent board. It just doesn't live up to the hype.
